This artwork represents a form of release for me—a positive outlet in a complex world. Art has always been my companion in navigating life’s challenges and remains a constant source of solace. My early life was marked by hardship; after my parents left when I was very young, my stepmother, an art teacher, raised me. She introduced me to the world of creativity, and I will forever be grateful to her for setting me on this path.I believe art provides a unique kind of support. There is no need to compare or compete with others. Instead, it is about creating for oneself, giving yourself a break, and learning not to be too critical of your own accomplishments. It is a space where you can simply be.
Technique and Philosophy
Titled ‘Free Spirit,’ this artwork signifies a sense of liberation. It embodies the feeling of a bird in flight, soaring above the chaos, stress, and burdens that often weigh us down. In this piece, I continue my exploration of using a simple shape against a backdrop of turmoil—a concept I have touched on in previous posts.
This focus on simplicity reflects my affinity for Buddhism and meditation. Both practices stress the value of maintaining a clear, peaceful, and uncomplicated mind. By placing a calm, singular form amidst a chaotic background, I am attempting to capture that moment of stillness we all seek.
