about me

I have been creating art since I was a child as my mother was an art teacher. I was taught from a young age to explore lots of mediums and have carried that on as an adult. I enjoying learning new skills and find not only will I be creating something with a creative vision in my head. I will also be exploring new techniques and adding more skills to my belt. I just cannot seem to settle with one technique or style. People have said all my design and artwork looks like the same artist has done it – I cannot see this myself.

After working full time and learning a lot about marketing, advertisement and websites for twenty years. I’m now using what I have learned to promote myself as a full-time graphic designer, illustrator and artist. Using the many marketing techniques to attract people to either work with me on a freelance basis or to buy the products that I design and create.

Elluse is the product of my fascination with being ‘elusive’ and not being able to define or place myself anywhere. I have always been interested in how human beings have to understand and label things. Although I can see this is obviously,  a form of intelligence by using scientific practices to learn and experiment.

I can also see how damaging it can be to societies and individuals. The type of disruptive behaviour I see is when people go over to other countries and examine how that culture works and usually try to change it.

I wonder if these obsessions with controlling people are to make themselves feel in control in an uncontrollable world. I also wonder if it’s a lot to do with people obsessed with power and money.

Because of this interest, my art evokes thoughts of escapism and being a free spirit. The feelings of self-love, self-empowerment are deeply rooted in me, as well as the joy, of being an individual.

I encourage everyone to find out what their opinions are and not just go to the media to form it for you but to read books and research on relevant subjects. It will lead to understanding yourself deeply and will then lead to REAL self-love and self-confidence. Who wouldn’t want that?

Quotes I like that are to do with this subject:

“To define is to limit” – Oscar Wilde
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace” – Jimi Hendrix
