This logo name is an acronym for the word Elusive. When expressing her ideas in her art,  Helen prefers to approach it with some style and likes to be subtle. She doesn’t shout her beliefs from the treetops but prefers to be a bit more reserved and subversive, maybe because she is a quiet soul that likes to be more in the background rather than the centre of attention.

Since Helen was a child,  she’s been creating art, as her mother was an art teacher and taught her from a young age to explore lots of mediums and experiment creatively. As she grew up, she found mixing up her art with learning new skills was enjoyable. Helen would discover learning new technologies and software exciting but has also explored Sculpture, Lino Print and Photography. Helen loves the combination of learning something new and creating art and would, at times, get involved in reading Philosophy and Political Discussions but always entwined what she learnt into her art.

Because of the above, Helen’s art doesn’t look all the same, and she thinks this shouldn’t be the most crucial factor when creating art. Elluse feels that society pushes artists to conform so Business people can use them as a tool to market and make money. As an artist, she has found that society pressurises her to choose an art medium and find a unique style. Doing this was not something she wanted to do, and she thinks the whole concept is boring.

Art to me is not about business or making money but a way to live your life that doesn’t embrace the western society concept of buying products and throwing them away. If more people became artists, it would be better for the planet and peoples mental health.” – By Helen Jones.
